I tried different outfit formats and finally found one that would work: PICT to JPEG. So they can't be edited in something like illustrator. However, Preview inputs PICT files and output files that are only bitmapped.

There was nothing wrong with the files because they were open in Preview. But when I try to convert PICT to PDF, I got an error message.
